Houshun(鳳春)
A Kyoto-bred cultivar registered in 2006, Houshun is valued for its rich umami and vivid color when processed into matcha. At d:matcha, young trees are now growing in Yubune, Wazuka.

d:matcha’s Houshun
At d:matcha, Houshun is currently being nurtured in our own fields in Yubune, Wazuka. The trees are just over 3 years old and not yet ready for commercial harvest. As they mature, Houshun will play an important role in expanding our Kyoto cultivar lineup, offering customers a deeper taste of Uji’s heritage.
