Price Revision Announcement

Effective August 9, 2025

From the bottom of our hearts, we thank all of our customers for being part of our journey. Thanks to your unwavering support, what started as a small dream in the tea fields of Wazuka has grown into a community that shares the joy, flavor, and spirit of matcha with the world.

Recently, global love for matcha has been rising faster than ever before, which is wonderful for tea culture. But here in Kyoto, the harvest of tencha (the tea leaves used for matcha) this year is 30% less than last year on average due to cold winters, reduced farmland, and shifts in farming. This year, the wholesale price of tencha in Kyoto has been nearly 2.7 times higher than last year.

At d:matcha, we work hard to grow our own tea organically, care for our fields year-round, and partner closely with local farmers who share our passion for quality. But with rising costs in processing, labor, and packaging, it has become difficult to keep prices the same without affecting quality or availability. To continue serving you the freshest, highest-quality matcha and to support the future of tea farming in our hometown, we will be revising the prices of certain products effective Saturday, August 9, 2025.

We try our best to keep these changes as minimal as possible. Every adjustment we make is so that we can preserve the craftsmanship, freshness, and values you have come to love, and so that matcha from Wazuka can be enjoyed not just today, but for generations to come.

We hope you can feel the sincerity behind this decision, and we truly appreciate you walking alongside us on this path. Your trust, encouragement, and love for matcha mean more to us than words can express.

With heartfelt gratitude,
d:matcha Kyoto Team
