Company Profile & History

A farm-to-table Japanese tea company founded in 2016 in Wazuka, Kyoto. We cultivate, process, and craft tea & matcha with full traceability, offering tours, education, and direct-to-customer experiences.

About Us

d:matcha Kyoto is based in the Yubune district of Wazuka-cho, Kyoto, Japan. Since 2016, we have vertically integrated the entire process—cultivation, sencha finishing, tencha production, stone-milling for matcha, product development, tours/experiences, and e-commerce—so that we can deliver the terroir of Kyoto–Uji to customers worldwide.

Production Facilities

Sencha Finishing Factory (60 kg line)

Equipped with a 60 kg finishing line for sorting, shaping, and firing. We maintain rigorous lot control and field data to ensure repeatable taste and aroma.

Tencha Factory (Horii Brick Furnace · 1 unit)

Our tencha facility employs a traditional Horii-style brick furnace (one unit), enhancing aroma and enabling premium matcha through stone-milling. Operational since May 2025.

Farms & Cultivars

  • Main cultivars: Samidori, Gokou, Okumidori, Yabukita, Tenmyo, and others
  • Cultivation policy: Biodiversity-minded field management; transparent traceability (field, shading days, harvest dates), shared with customers whenever possible.
