¥1,500

Cultivated variety: Okumidori
Shading period: 13 days
Cultivation method: Pesticide-free
Harvest season: Spring / 1st flush

The Okumidori cultivar accounts for approximately 3% of the total tea production in Japan. It is known to possess a well balanced taste of umami and bitterness.
The natural sweetness of this variety is further emphasised by its deep jade green colour when brewed.

This year, it was shaded for a longer period of 13 days, allowing you to enjoy a robust and satisfying umami flavor.  It has a milky and smooth taste.

<Hakusan Shrine Series> This Sencha Okumidori was harvested from the field next to Hakusan Shrine, just across the street from d:matcha store. This field is visited during d:matcha's Tea Picking tour, so if you have participated in the tour, you may recognize this field. Yabukita, Okumidori, and Gokō, three different varieties, are planted side by side in the same location, offering an opportunity to compare their unique characteristics.

This is the 4th year in which we have cultivated our tea fields without the use of any pesticide. Furthermore, only organic fertiliser is used. This produce is also part of our Adopt-A-Tea-Tree programme.
