Your Bed & Breakfast: Tea Moon
We opened Tea Moon, our Bed & Breakfast, to offer travelers the ultimate Japanese tea experience. Tea Moon overlooks d:matcha’s rolling tea fields and stands next to the 1000-year-old Hakusan Shrine. We renovated this traditional Japanese house in 2023, conserving its historic exterior while adapting it for modern comfort, as part of our mission to revitalize our historic green tea town.

Tea Moon's Story

Here in Yubune, population outflow to urban areas has led to a serious increase in vacant houses.

In the summer of 2023, d:matcha undertook a full renovation of an 80-year-old vacant house, re-opening it as a B&B accommodation. Inside, guests can experience traditional Japanese architecture: the warmth of the wood, the scent of the tatami mats, and the calm of carefully curated spaces. Beyond the windows, tea fields stretch out across the landscape, accompanied by the sounds of insects and distant deers. It is a place to experience life in Yubune, where everyday living unfolds in close harmony with nature.
