The tour begins after meeting in my café, d:matcha Kyoto. From there, we’ll stroll through the charming town of Wazuka, passing traditional Japanese-style houses as we ascend the winding streets. Our first stop is the picturesque Yubune tea field, a sight to behold with its terraced landscape and endless greenery of rice and tea plantations. As we continue our journey, the scenery shifts as we approach Hakusan Shrine, where you’ll walk through serene cedar woods and breathe in the fresh mountain air. Upon reaching d:matcha's hillside organic tea farm, you'll participate in a tea-picking activity, experiencing firsthand the intentional farming that goes into producing our teas. The tour concludes with a return to our café, where you’ll savor green tea tempura made from the leaves you picked. Following this, enjoy a tea tasting session, where you’ll learn to whisk your own matcha. The experience wraps up with a delicious tea-themed lunch, which includes vegan and gluten-free options.
