In Japan, we enjoy Oofukucha at the beginning of the year.
By drinking the tea, we can keep away evil spirits and celebrate the new year.
This event was started in the Heian period, which was 1,200 years ago.
d:matcha made the special ver. of Genmaicha as Oofukucha.
We chose the Okumidori 0days sencha as leaves (way higher grade leaves than usual genmaicha) and our roasted organic rice along with salted seaweeds, Kelp(昆布).
Kelp is an auspicous food. Konbu (昆布) is the Japanese name and also means happiness. Kelp is perfect to enjoy with tea thanks to its natural tastiness(umami).
