Cultivated variety: Yabukita
Shading period: N/A

All the tea leaves harvested from this field were handpicked by the staff of d:matcha Kyoto.

The aroma of this year's harvest is delicate yet enticing, with a sweet accent. The body of the brew is full and has very little bitterness even on the third brew. Furthermore this tea field is managed without the use of pesticides or even fertilisers. You will get to indulge in a truly unique and pure taste of Japanese tea.

Located 400m above sea-level, our Harayama tea field lies on the side of Mount Jubu, in the eastern region of Wazuka. This area is also where tea originated in Wazuka 800 years ago. The extremely mountainous terrain makes harvesting from these fields a challenge even for the most experienced farmers. Local farmers however, have all unanimously said that the soil here is the most ideal for tea cultivation.
